Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026.

AnyStudents is a free study platform. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising.

What we collect

Account details. If you create an account: your email address, the name you give us, whether you are 18 or older, 13 to 17, or a parent or teacher signing up a child, and any study preferences you set. You need a free account to use Smart AITutor. Accounts are handled by Supabase, our authentication and database provider.

Things you save. Subjects you bookmark, so your dashboard can show them again.

Smart AITutor conversations. Questions you ask the tutor are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate an answer. Do not put personal or sensitive information into the tutor. If you are signed in, your progress and the lesson you are part-way through are also saved to your account, so you can carry on from another computer or phone — that includes the recent messages of the lesson in progress. If you are not signed in, it stays in your browser only. You can delete it at any time from the tutor, and deleting your account deletes it with everything else.

Outbound link clicks. When you click a recommended tool we record which tool it was, which page you clicked from, and the time. We store a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself, so the record cannot be traced back to you. If you are signed in, the click is linked to your account so your recommendations improve.

Newsletter and messages. The email address you give us when subscribing, and anything you send through the contact form or an exam-board request.

Referrals. If you invite someone with your referral link, we record that they joined through you.

Emails we send

When you create an account we send one welcome email. We only send study tips and other emails if you tick the box agreeing to them, and we never send offers from partners to anyone who tells us they are under 18. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not close your account. If an email to you bounces or is marked as spam, we stop emailing that address.

Cookies

The first time you visit we ask what you are happy for us to use, and nothing optional is set until you answer. There are three kinds:

Necessary. A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking. These cannot be switched off. Your quiz scores and tutor progress are saved in your own browser and never leave your device.

Functional. If someone invited you with a referral link, a cookie remembers who invited you for 90 days so they get the credit. This is only set if you agree to it.

Analytics and advertising. We use neither today. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data. If we ever add a tool that counts visits, it will only run for people who have turned analytics on.

You can change your answer at any time with the link, which is also at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we start with everything optional switched off.

How we use it

To keep you signed in, personalise your dashboard, send the newsletter you opted into, answer your messages, and understand which study guides and recommended tools are actually useful.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that make the site work — hosting, database and authentication, email delivery, search, and the AI provider behind the tutor. Each processes data on our behalf. We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.

When you follow a link to a partner site, that site is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one. See our affiliate disclosure.

Students under 16

Much of our audience is at school. If you are under 16, please get permission from a parent, guardian or teacher before creating an account. If you believe a child has given us personal data without that permission, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email. To make a request, use the contact form.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
