Why three minutes?
A child who has to work out 7 × 8 every time has not learnt it yet. Number facts become automatic through short, repeated bursts — not long sessions — which is why this is a three-minute round you can play again rather than a worksheet. The score out of attempts matters more than the score alone: answering forty and getting thirty is better practice than answering ten carefully.
